Off to the “Middle Kingdom” with NürnbergMesse: Greenery & Landscaping China entices the industry to Shanghai

-- More than 8,000 decision-makers expected
-- International congress with exciting presentations
-- Delegation trip for German exhibition visitors

The gardening and landscaping and the landscape architecture sectors are growing rapidly in China. As the number of inhabitants in Chinese towns and cities continues to rise, it is not only many new homes which are being constructed. There has also been an increase in the level of investment in green spaces and recreational facilities. One of the most important business platforms for Chinese decision-makers, who plan, construct and maintain private and communal gardens, parks, open spaces, sports facilities and playgrounds, is Greenery & Landscaping China. This year, the trade fair will take place from 7th to 9th June in the Shanghai World Expo Convention & Exhibition Center. More than 8,000 trade visitors are expected. A top-class congress with international speakers as well as a professionally organized delegation trip will make participating in the exhibition an attractive proposition for both German and European exhibitors as well as all other players in the sector in equal measure.

As organizer of the international leading exhibition GaLaBau, NürnbergMesse has been a reliable partner to providers of machines, devices and materials for use in professional gardening and landscaping as well as maintenance of green spaces for many years when it comes to the positioning of products and services in the market to reach their respective target groups. Now European GaLaBau suppliers can also benefit from a comfortable way of presenting their offers in China. As of this year, the NürnbergMesse subsidiary company NürnbergMesse China will be the organizer of the Greenery & Landscaping China trade fair in Shanghai. The exhibition format has already existed for more than ten years and is now ready to be launched with a completely new concept in cooperation with the Shanghai Landscape Architecture and Gardening Trade Association (SLAGTA). More than 200 international exhibitors as well as more than 8,000 decision-makers from the Chinese green sector are expected.

Last-minute companies can still register
As Greenery & Landscaping China will take place from 7th to 9th June, those European companies interested in participating should get in touch with the trusted NürnbergMesse team as soon as possible. The employees will not only support you in planning your trip to the exhibition, but they also have tips for working with customs, translation agencies as well as transport and insurance companies. Companies will also receive useful information about the exhibition location as well as how to get there and where to stay.

International congress on current green issues
Complementing the trade fair, the China International Symposium on Ecological Landscape Planning and Construction will take place on 7th June. The Fit for Future, Building the Liveable City trade congress will then open its doors on 8th June. Renowned speakers from five countries and four continents will engage with the issue of how a liveable city can be constructed both today and in the future. The congress will be organized by Robert Schäfer from Munich. He is known by many green experts in Germany as the founder and long-term editor of the international Topos magazine. The first-class congress program guarantees that numerous Chinese decision-makers for the development of urban and green spaces will visit Greenery and Landscaping China.

The speakers at the congress include Adrian McGregor from Australia, amongst others. The presentation of the founder and managing director of a landscape architecture firm headquartered in Sydney will deal with the issue of biourbanism and evaluate whether this model is viable for the city of the future. Also speaking at the congress is Jochen Rabe from Germany. The landscape architect is a professor at the Technical University of Berlin and will speak about the interplay between elasticity and digitalization in the development of urban spaces. Along with the informative presentations, there will also be plenty of time for the congress visitors to enter into in-depth dialogue with other participants and the speakers.

Delegation trip to green destinations in Shanghai
In order to guarantee that interested trade visitors can enjoy a trouble-free journey and a pleasant stay for the duration of the exhibition, the NürnbergMesse Group will be organizing a four-day delegation trip to Shanghai for Greenery & Landscaping China – including accommodation in a five-star hotel. Alongside visiting the exhibition, the itinerary also includes trips to garden areas in the city, a landscape architecture firm as well as an executing gardening and landscaping company. The focus will be firmly placed on networking.

Participants can expect an exciting schedule: they will not only be invited to the official exhibition opening event on 7th June 2017, but they will also be expected as guests at the exhibitor get-together on the same night. A trip to the Yuyuan Garden is planned for the second day. This is a traditional Chinese garden which impressively demonstrates the architectural style of the Ming dynasty.

Participants can choose between two options for the next day of the trip. They can visit the Chenshan Botanical Garden, a botanical garden in a class of its own over an area of around 200 hectares. Option number two is a trip to Houtan Park which presents itself as a transformed industrial area directly on the banks of the Huangpu river. Visits to two companies in the green sector are lined up for the fourth and final day of the delegation trip. We will first go to the Shanghai Landscape Architecture Design Institute and then discussions with representatives of the gardening and landscaping company Shanghai Landscape Engineering are on the agenda.

Since the number of participants on the delegation trip to Greenery & Landscaping China is limited, interested parties should register as soon as possible. The contact for NürnbergMesse is Ye Heinrich who can be reached via email: ye.heinrich@nuernbergmesse.de.
